I was a subway kid. The level of education was hard. The courses offered were great, and I was just a good student who paid attention to my schoolwork. Medical school was not easy. I did some research training. I researched the field of physiology. CCNY is a great school. I barely afforded my education. I was one of six children and my father worked two jobs a week. When I hear about kids who go on to public education, because they're limited in terms of economics and they should have been selves, I think we should be proud of that.
