Franklin Johnson, MD

I chose CCNY because there was no tuition. The most important thing there was the Catholic Newman Club, and it had an impact on me for the duration of college meeting a lot of people. I took the science courses, and I took the requisite studies needed for entrance into a medical school. I thought it was a very good experience meeting people and being on campus. Meeting different nationalities at the time and getting to talk to them was very good. I reconnected with my Spanish background by taking Spanish classes and meeting people that spoke Spanish. CCNY helped me focus more on the medical field; I became a surgeon and retired five years ago.
