I chose to attend the City College of New York because I was a New York resident, and it had a wonderful reputation. I was pre-med, then I switched my major to social studies. I was drafted into the Korean war, and then I went to attend CCNY. I commuted from home to school every day. I had an elective course professor who was chairman of the history department, and it was a marvelous course. After my time at CCNY, I got my master's at NYU.
