Student Life & Rich Traditions

I lived on 140 Fourth Street, which is nearby and I walked over to campus numerous times and, because it's a beautiful campus, I wanted to see what I could go in. At that time they had open enrollment, and I was able to get in and I enjoyed the whole time I was there. It was a beautiful landscape. I felt that I got a good education. I had a writing course, and I learned how to truly express myself and also, you couldn't get out of it unless you were sufficient in English. That was one of the courses that I was weak in at first, but then I got stronger in that. I also took up Black's Law, and that was very interesting since I took up political science. After that I went to Long Island University for a paralegal and passed that course. I retired from the New York City Fire Department in 1984 and that's when I moved to Florida. CCNY is one of the benchmarks in my life. I have a business, which is a landscaping business, here in Jacksonville.
