When I started 20 years ago, CCNY was economical. What made me stay instead of transferring someplace else was the dynamic energy of the teachers and the students because I went to the evening program and the students were all there. We all had our moments that we could excel at. It was great because everybody was receptive to it. I did take a few day classes. I'm an office worker, and I always was very lucky. I always did jobs above my pay grade. If I was hired as an administrative assistant, I did have jobs that were much more complicated, so I stayed long hours. My advisors kept me motivated and on track. My guidance counselor was great because he helped me maneuver the system. I took all my electives right away. CCNY gave me more confidence. That's always a good confidence booster.
