BE '42
I chose CCNY because it was affordable and it had a pretty good reputation. The professors at CCNY were pretty high-level people. After I graduated, I went to work for a couple of years on some defense activities. A couple of years later, I was in the Navy, and I served in the Navy from '44 to '46. I had a rank of Lieutenant, junior grade, at the time I left. After I got out of the Navy, I had a number of interesting projects. I also got into a project that worked on the predecessor of the AWACS aircraft. I then worked for a company called Maxim Electronics, and I reached the rank of vice president in that company. I worked mostly on electronic warfare systems, which were my main specialty at that time. After 12 years with Maxim, I started my own business. We worked with the Air Force, the Navy, and the Army. The company grew quite a bit, and eventually, I sold the company to Raytheon in 1989. I became part of the board of directors, and subsequent to that, I retired.
