Faculty & Staff

When I was in high school, I really didn't know what I wanted to do. I was at a college night, and debating whether I wanted to be a pilot. There was a recruiter named Kesha Mills who explained to me the advantages of the college, the history of the college, and what was available. It was one of the better options at the time. That what made me decide to go to the City College of New York. When I got into CCNY, I felt like I didn't have any limits. Every quarter I would take more classes than in the last quarter because I felt like I did better. I wanted to learn everything. I enjoyed the academic freedom and how much instruction was so good. It felt like it's a first-class institution, even though it was really affordable. I very much appreciated that. I used to talk to Millicent Roth and Ms. Stanley. I had many favorite professors. Some of my favorite professors in the Mathematics Department were Raymond Hoobler and Thea Pignataro. In the Physics Department my favorite professors were Alexios Polychronakos, Fred Smith, and Timothy Boyer. I loved the whole Physics Department. People were supportive. I made friends with people from different years. I had a group of friends in the Mathematics Department, Physics Department, Biology Department, and Chemistry Department. I very much loved it at the campus. I wouldn't have gotten my current job if I didn't get a PhD at Stanford. I wouldn't have gotten a PhD at Stanford if I wasn't allowed to flourish the way I was at CCNY. CCNY changed my entire life.
