I wanted to major in math, and CCNY was outstanding in that field. My sister had gone there and majored in math, and it appealed to our parents because it was free at the time. It was known as an excellent college. The school grouped us in with girls who had basically the same major, so CCNY made me feel like part of the college. I ran for office for one year, so I remember being with other people who were running. I made good friends there. I also went to CCNY for my master's in math education. I became a high school math teacher. Whenever I think of CCNY, I think of the people who didn't have enough money that they accepted and turned into professionals.
