I did write a book in 2004. I wrote a memoir called 'Life's Journey of a Refugee: Memoirs of a World War II Survivor,' and I have a website, refugeenomore.com. It was an autobiography about my life during and after World War II. I was born in what we know as Slovenia now. It was called Yugoslavia. During the war, we became refugees, and we wound up in a refugee camp in Austria. We spent seven years there, from 1945 to 1952. My father, in the meantime was sent to the Russian front, and he spent a year or two in the coal mines in Russia. He came back and found us in the refugee camp, and he proceeded to work on getting us over here. We came to this country in 1952, and I proceeded to go after that American dream. I joined the army when I was 18, and I became an interpreter for the American commander in Europe. I grew up in Brooklyn, and when I was finally out of the army, I decided to go to CCNY.
