I probably could not have afforded to go away to school, and the City College of New York had no tuition at that time. It was beautiful and it was a wonderful school. I met wonderful people and good teachers. I had started out as a French major, but I changed my mind and went into music. It was the best decision of my life because I've been teaching piano up until now. I'm still in contact with some of my friends from CCNY. I think of having gone to CCNY always with a very happy thought. I'm delighted that I went there and that it gave me a good education.
