I chose to attend the City College of New York because I decided to pursue a degree in nursing, and I felt like they offered the best courses. I was an older student when I went there; I was around 30 years old. What stood out to me was that a lot of the students were either working people or older people. CCNY provided us an opportunity to increase our education and to better ourselves, and I'm very thankful for that. I also appreciated the Nursing Department. I was able to graduate, and I got my first job as a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital. I then transferred to another hospital and became a specialist in hemodialysis. I eventually came back to St. Luke's and I spent the rest of my career there. What makes me smile about CCNY was the welcoming atmosphere.
