Lifelong Friendships

When I was ready to go to college, my parents were very poor and CCNY was a wonderful school and I did not have to pay tuition. I also had heard that all my friends were going there. Everything was wonderful! The classes were so interesting, and I could talk to my friends at lunch. It was just a very nice time. I became a teacher. After I graduated I was married in 1955 and moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota. My husband, Donald Weil, worked on the first computer. I taught school there for three years. Then my father died and my mother asked me to come back east. We moved to New Jersey, where I taught first grade for 27 years. I retired and moved to Durham, North Carolina, in 1995. I helped build a co-housing community called Solterra. My house was the first one built in 1998. In 2011 my husband and I moved to Croasdaile Village, a retirement community. This is where I am now living.
