Career Success

I was initially seeking my building leader certificate through CCNY in the fall of 1999, which I earned in the spring of 2000. When I started the building leader program I was also working on my doctorate. I used my school leadership certification to found two schools in the New York City Department of Education. I founded the Math & Science Exploratory School, MS 447, in the fall of 2003, and Millennium Brooklyn High School in the fall of 2011. I returned to CCNY in the 2012-2013 school year after I finished my doctoral degree in the spring of 2012 to earn the additional credits towards completing my master's in school building leadership. This allowed me to work towards getting my district leadership license. At the completion of my SBL master's through CCNY, I applied for the LEAF Future Superintendents Academy, took coursework towards my SDL, and took the School District Leader Certification exam in the spring of 2014. I'm currently an assistant superintendent within the New York City Department of Education. CCNY was my stepping stone to my aspiration for the next level of my career.
