BA '77
I graduated from Bellevue School of Nursing in 1965 as a registered nurse. After that I was an officer in the Army Nurse Corps for four years, from December 1965 until December 1969. This was during the Vietnam war era. I was stationed at both San Francisco, California, and Frankfurt, Germany. Since I was 8 years old, I'd always wanted to be a writer. When I grew up I decided to go to CCNY. It was a very exciting time, and I met a lot of great friends. I was able to work as a nurse and pursue writing on the side. CCNY had the reputation of being one of the best schools in the country at the time. It was easy for me to travel on public transportation there. The arts program was one of the best, and the professors were terrific. I was an adamant and very eager writer at the time. We had a lot of energy, and everybody enjoyed my writing style. It gave me the opportunity to express myself and learn a good deal about life. I wanted to learn as much as I could, intellectually, in the first 50 years of my life. The 'second 50 years' is more of a spiritual quest for me. So I studied for two years at One Spirit Learning Alliance and I am now an interfaith minister. My existence has been a desire to learn about as much as I possibly can about life. CCNY played an integral role helping me to achieve this goal. Many thanks.
