Lifelong Friendships

I had two reasons why I chose The City College of New York: it was a free school, and I had an uncle who went to CCNY and got an engineering degree. He was married to my aunt, so he was an uncle by marriage. I was the oldest cousin of the family and the first one to go to college and graduate. I went there twice. I started in '53 for a year and a half. Then I went into the Army for two years. I came out of the Army in September of '56, went back to CCNY, and finished up in the summer of '59. When I came back after the Army, I joined Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. I developed friendships that were very important to me. The people in the fraternity were helpful in terms of telling me how to do things. Richard Augeri and Chris Christodoulou were very good friends of mine that I had while I was at CCNY. They were important to me. They were good friends and I valued those friendships. I thought it was an excellent school with some outstanding teachers. CCNY was my pathway to becoming a doctor, which was my ultimate goal in life. I loved being a doctor.
