Career Success

When I graduated from CCNY, I went to work for a steel company. I took the open competitive tests and I ended up working for the transit authority, and I was with them for 22 years. I spent a couple of years working on the Harlem line in platform rehabilitations. We were rebuilding the railroad from North White Plains all the way up to Brewster, including signals and everything. We did that by closing the railroad down during the day after a certain train came in the mornings. I had to get the train running again at night. I did a high-rail inspection with a trainmaster, and I gave the approval to turn the railroad back in time to make an inspection. I was with them until somewhere around 1990. When I left Metro-North, I went to work for a consulting firm. I was with them for several years. I ended up getting a job to build a completely new railroad station in Westchester. I went up there, and it was quite a nice town. I visited recently. They've built a lot within the railway that we had to build to get into the station.
