Student Life & Rich Traditions

I attended the City College of New York Engineering School because it was one of the top colleges at the time. My very good high school grades at Christopher Columbus in the Bronx meant my tuition would be zero. CCNY was a great school and was, at the time, the number one college in the country for its graduates going on to win a Nobel Prize. I had a great time at CCNY and made many friends. My four-and-a half-year electrical engineer degree was my proud achievement. After my fourth year, in 1957, I got a summer engineering internship in Los Angeles. There, at a dance, I met the love of my life, Esther. She was 20 and I was 21. We got married after I graduated from CCNY in 1958. I went on to have a great electrical engineering career at Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, and Bell Laboratories, doing state-of-the-art work for our country. I retired around 2003. Thank you, CCNY, for my great engineering education. I have three children and three grandchildren. My wife passed away in 2017.
