Student Life & Rich Traditions

I was living in New York City, and my parents didn't have the resources to send me out of state. Because I lived in Brooklyn, at least I wanted some experience outside of Brooklyn. That was one reason I selected CCNY. It was like going out of state, even though I was somewhere that was an hour each way. I got to meet a whole new bunch of people. It was really one of the best things of my life meeting people from other parts of the city. It turned out to be a very wholesome experience. The professors I had were amazing. Some of them were nationally and internationally known. A couple of them later became president of CCNY. There was a professor who influenced me more than anyone else to conservation work. I joined a fraternity, Pershing Rifles, which was amazing. I met Colin Powell there, who's now world famous. I couldn't have anywhere else that experience, and CCNY was responsible for it. I really appreciate what the college did for me.
