Career Success

I went to school at night and worked during the day, so CCNY was convenient for my job and from where I lived at the time. I liked mostly the professors at the City College of New York. I also liked the architecture and the design of the whole campus; I loved that the most. My degree allowed me to move up professionally because they preferred to have a lot of people with degrees. It enabled me to move up quickly. They recognized those folks that had the ability to move on and become leaders, and that's what happened to me. My favorite memory at CCNY was graduation. It was in the summer 1977, and the person that spoke happened to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Joseph Anthony Califano, Jr.
