I chose CCNY because that's what I could afford. I worked all day, and I went to school at night. I was the only one in my family that attended CCNY. I made lifelong friendships. We had a sorority of women, but I'm the only one left in that group. I am 96, I have much to look back on. It was a wonderful time in my life. I went to school for seven years, five nights a week. I got home at 11:30 every night. It made an 'every woman' of me. It made me feel that I could attain anything I tried. I was the first woman to be head of the organization. My name is up there in the building on the left-hand side.
