Career Success

At the time, I had thoughts of becoming an accountant, and I knew that the City College of New York had a good reputation for accounting. That was the reason I chose it. I had a lot of fun socially and I was involved with a fraternity. I found the accounting classes very good and I learned everything about my profession there. I took every accounting course that I could. I was able to use that education to move ahead in the profession, and I eventually became a CPA and a partner in a medium-sized firm. I always enjoyed that work and I always appreciated the education that I received at CCNY. I worked for one firm where I got a summer job from school. I worked there for a summer. Then the next year I graduated, and I worked part-time for them all winter. When I graduated, they hired me full-time and I stayed with them, grounding in the profession. I felt it was time to move on so I found another firm that hired me, and that's the firm I stayed with for the rest of my career. I became a partner a couple of years later and I was the youngest of the partners at the time. I had a great career with them and I enjoyed it.
