Career Success

I attended Queens for one summer. I was always a fan of the City College of New York, especially after those basketball games. It got a great reputation and had a good science school. Mainly I didn't have the money to go to college anywhere in this world, but CCNY was a first-rate school and it was free. I'm very proud of it. I'm the first generation of my family to attend college. I lived in Queens and in Brooklyn at one time, so I was a commuter. I took mathematics and science. It was hard work and stimulating in a lot of ways. It helped me to question things and think about things. I was impressed with the hard work and seriousness of the CCNY students. I went to work for NASA after that, and that was a lot of fun, too. I participated in the radar validation of Apollo 11. I retired from NASA after 38 years. It was an interesting job. CCNY was a wondrous place where somebody with little or no funds could get ahead and succeed. The whole CUNY system was great. The people that have graduated from CCNY were incredible people. Edward G. Robinson and Woody Allen came from CCNY. It was an exciting place in many ways. It was the crown jewel of the CUNY system and was well-thought of by people outside of the college.
