Career Success

I graduated from CCNY in 1970 with a bachelor of science. This degree opened doors to a career in food science. I worked for General Foods in product development in the Jell-O Division. From there I worked for a division of Sarah Lee, creating frozen confections. Then I worked at Buitoni Foods Corporation in research and development and quality assurance. After these experiences, I became an entrepreneur. I manufactured frozen hors d'oeuvres and appetizers under the brand name of Joyce's Custom Hors d'oeuvres and co-packed for a large frozen food manufacturer. Soon I joined forces with two other people and successfully expanded to a larger facility called the Miami Onion Roll Company. One of my fondest memories of CCNY was Raymond the pretzel man, who sold the best soft pretzels out of a vending cart.
