The reputation and the fact that I had a couple of friends going there at the time made me chose CCNY. What I loved about CCNY was the education I got there. Even after I took various classes in English and literature, I would still take tutorials from some of the professors who were not being paid for it. It was a love of learning that CCNY engendered in me and everyone else I knew. One particular late professor who became a lifelong friend was professor Earl Rovit. We became great friends; we used to run around Central Park every Sunday. In fact, we ran a half-marathon together. He was very instrumental in my starting a novel, which I completed and have since published. The faculty were some of the most wonderful guys, particularly in the English Department. They were so open and willing to help students. City College made all of that possible. I've been happily retired for 14 years. It was really all made possible because of the training and things that I got at CCNY.
