Student Life & Rich Traditions

Believe it or not, it was the professorship, and looking at the architectural program and how a lot of the faculty were either coming in from Columbia or just world-renowned on their own. It was really that professorship that pushed me and propelled me to go there. What made an impression on me was really student culture. The fact that the culture of the architectural program, the culture of the engineering program, the arts program, theater, and even of all of the bachelor's of liberal arts like the NAC building, there was the same kind of camaraderie that happened with the professors that trickled down to the students and basically filters out. If you were going into architecture, you really wanted to be part of the architectural group. These are people where they'll really help people coming from the ground up all the way to people who are in the master's classes. That's the thing that really made a great impression. It was the co-learning of people who started, whether it was freshman year, and then you had your master's of architecture or even the upper-level seniors who were in the bachelor's program. It was that camaraderie between people who already went through the program and people that were coming through the program, which was really helpful. I noticed that even in other areas, but primarily architecture. That's where I was.
