BA '86

My mom was a single parent. She was working multiple jobs to put food on our table. I got a full scholarship to go to CCNY. It was a blessing from God. I loved my Spanish professor. She was such a fiery little personality, but was an amazing person. I had some amazing experiences in the Biochemistry Department. I did the MBRS-Research Program, where I did research in the Biochemistry Department, which was an awesome experience for me. I met some good people along the way. I sadly lost touch with them, but they were part of my journey to becoming a physician and to becoming the person I am today. It was an amazing experience as part of my life. I'll never forget it. I was awarded the Sigma Delta Pi Award for the highest GPA in Spanish for non-native speakers of the language in 1986. CCNY was what gave me the foundation to go on to apply and get into medical school. I am now a retired physician after 30 years. I am absolutely loving every second of my retirement. I am now pursuing my other passion, which is to help and educate people about total health. I have created my amazing blog that's called 'Best You Made Possible.' That's where I spend my hours these days. The best piece of advice I would give anybody right now in this world, in this life, and in their journey, is to have clarity about their identity and purpose. CCNY was an opportunity for me to grow, learn, and experience love along the way from some amazing professors and friends. I learned so much from that experience that shaped my life. It has made me a better person.
