Deborah D. Battle

The Education Department at CCNY was very informative and very thorough, especially when I was doing my master's in the literacy program. I liked that the professors gave me a broad idea of what to expect in the teaching field. CCNY prepared me for what was trending in the field of education. I landed a job as a teacher's aid in the Bronx and then was later promoted to teacher's assistant. I worked for about two years as a director at a childcare and development center before I retired, so I had good preparation for what I needed to do. Overall it took me 20 years to completely finish my degree, but my experiences were very fair. The counselors there supported me when I had a family.
