Student Life & Rich Traditions

City College of New York was in the Harlem community, which was close to where I was. It had a very progressive history and had a good stature at that time. All good for us was there. I was there at a time of the civil rights struggle. CCNY was an academic focal point for that. I really enjoyed it, and I became very involved there. I was one of the founders of the Annex Society at that time. I was also on the soccer team there, and the student body was phenomenal. Professor John Davis in the political science department was outstanding and phenomenal. CCNY was a very progressive school. It was really eye opening and very positive.
