CCNY is a public institution run by the City of New York. It was a free college at that time, so it cost me nothing to enroll in that college provided I had the grades; I had an 85 average. It only cost me the registration fee. Everything else was free, except we had to buy our books, but that wasn't too bad because would buy used books at that time. Some of the teachers made a really good impression on me. There were some pretty good teachers there. My German teacher, Richard Plant, was a very fine teacher. I also met some very fine fellow students. One of them was Emmanuel Halper. After graduation he went off to law school, at the same law school that I went on to, which was at Columbia University. Every once in a while I see him, even now. Had I not go to CCNY, I made not have been able to go to law school. CCNY gave me a very good education.
