I was inspired to attend the City College of New York because of the recommendation from my colleagues. They told me about their wonderful experience at CCNY, and that if I were to attend, I would surely be successful. I took a CWE program at CCNY, and it provided the necessary basis and support that I needed to go on to a graduate degree. I had a very unique and wonderful experience in a very small community that was supported by amazing professionals. Jason Chappell was someone that stuck in my mind because he was supportive, and I met him when he was starting his career at CCNY. After graduating, I went on to the University of Florida and completed my master's in education with a school psychology major. I became a bilingual school psychologist soon after, and I've been working for the past 11 years. Currently I am pursuing my administration degree in the same field. I had an amazing preparation, and I owe that to CCNY. CCNY was a home to many immigrant children and immigrant people. It provides more than education; it provides a sense of belonging.
