Student Life & Rich Traditions

I lived in New York. I wanted to major in chemistry, and there was no tuition at the time at CCNY. It was just a matriculation fee, and they had a good science department. It was the obvious school for me to go to, because I couldn't pay tuition and weren't that many scholarships at the time. There were no student loans, but I got a few scholarships. I got a New York State Regents Scholarship. I worked my way through school. I had a job in the alumni association, and they helped me out. I was busy all the time, and I had a long commute. I had friends, and that's where I met my husband. I met some professors and applied to graduate school in the city. I decided to do a PhD in biochemistry and went to Columbia University. I got some recommendations and went through school.
