The City College of New York was tuition free when I attended, and it also had an excellent academic reputation. Having a degree from CCNY had a positive impact on my life because people thought favorably of graduates from the college. The liberal arts education gave me information about so many different subjects and areas of life. Meeting and becoming friends with students from various races and ethnic groups made me more well-rounded and enabled me to see the world in a different way. Besides receiving an excellent education, I joined various student organizations and clubs. I experienced various ideas and concepts that were new to me, which gave me a more in-depth understanding of how the world works. What I learned both inside and outside of the classrooms was invaluable to my life going forward.
