Student Life & Rich Traditions

I applied to CCNY in 1950. I chose CCNY because it had just won the NIT NCAA basketball tournament. I came in and I was one of the youngest people in the class. I didn't know much about the world. I grew up during my time at CCNY. I wound up participating in a lot of activities. I became the editor of the campus newspaper, and I also became the senior class president. Professor Goldberg was my chemistry professor who made a great influence on me, but the most important influence on me was the campus newspaper. I was putting out a newspaper weekly in those days, and that was a full-time job. I got to know how to deal with people, and I got to interrelate with people. CCNY really developed me into a human being that had confidence, and that had the greatest effect on me.
