Career Success

The fact that the City College System was available to New York City residents was very crucial. I would not have been able to go to college unless I was in the City College System. My parents both immigrated to the United States, so I'm a first-generation citizen as well. I had some terrific professors, people who were able to convey complex information and complex concepts in an understandable way. I found the whole experience to be rigorous, but also fun and stimulating. I subsequently discovered in my post-graduation jobs that my CCNY education was second to none and very, very gratifying. CCNY had an enormous impact. It allowed me to be qualified and hired by top-notch companies. My first job upon graduation was with the Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My subsequent job was with the Sperry Gyroscope Company and focused on engineering efforts. It also did emphasize the need for technical program management. I became involved in the engineering effort and running the business at a fair age in my technical career. I ended up pursuing an MBA at night at NYU and getting a master's in business administration The combined degrees qualified me for more responsible jobs in the aerospace industry. I have very, very fond memories of being up at the CCNY campus: being involved in the classes, being involved with my fellow students, and keeping in touch with some of them over the years. To encourage the freshmen class at CCNY, I would say that you are going to get the best education that is available in the world.
