Student Life & Rich Traditions

I was born and raised in Harlem, and I always respected CCNY as one of the finest institutions of higher learning. What made the greatest impression on me was the experience and camaraderie that I developed at CCNY. All the people of different ethnicities and backgrounds was something that's very difficult to find in many places other than the college. I was one of the few people in the School of Engineering before I changed over to computer science. Once I moved over to computer science, I went back and finished after I worked for a period of time. The entire department, the staff, and the classmates were great. I've had a nice relationship with CCNY. About 12 years ago I formed a historical society, which has been memorializing the noteworthy accomplishments of institutions and individuals in Harlem. I've sponsored several events there. CCNY has been very amenable for allowing me to follow my passion, which is educating our future generations on the major accomplishments of Harlem's great institutions and individuals.
