I had gone to Hunter College as an undergraduate. I received an excellent education and was pleased with the City University of New York system. After I graduated, I taught in an elementary school in Upper Manhattan: PS 189 on Amsterdam Avenue. Since I was teaching nearby, it made the most sense to attend CCNY. I knew that I would receive a fine education. Going to CCNY fulfilled my desire to earn a master of science in education. I was a very serious student. Writing my thesis was important to me and I applied it to my first-grade class. While at CCNY, I made dear friends with my fellow students and working colleagues whom I still know after so many years.
