My teachers were very well-regarded, and they opened the world. The City College of New York has always had a fine reputation, and I had many wonderful experiences with those teachers. The courses I took were excellent and well-taught. I remember my professors very well, and they live in my memories because they were all excellent. Some of them were professor Herbert Strauss and professor Isaac Stone. The dean was professor Oscar Zeichner. I have a letter from him congratulating me on my undergraduate and graduate degrees. They were very well-prepared and I took voluminous notes in all my courses. I also took a sequence in education, and the School of Education was excellent. Dr. Howard Carter was one of the professors there who stood out to me. The graduate division was just as fine and just as excellent. It took me six years to finish my graduate studies, and I was granted a master of arts in history. I did a master's thesis on the 'Freedom of the Seas' and Woodrow Wilson, and my mentor was James Cox. Louis Leo Snyder also stood out to me; he taught European history. My memories there are very high, and I carry the banner of CCNY very proudly. All of them were excellent teachers who served their pupils well, and their memories live on. I taught in Hartsdale, New York in 1968, then I went to a private school. I took the Civil Service Examinations in New York City and became an appointed high school teacher. I learned very much from CCNY and my interest in learning is continued and strengthened. It allowed me to become a better and more respectful person.
