I was working in banking at Citibank. One of my cousins who went to CCNY asked me, 'Do you want to go to school?' I had a beautiful mother that said, 'Go ahead.' She was working and widow. I was allowed to go to school because I wasn't one of the people that could go to night school. That kicked me into NYU to become a clinical social worker. At CCNY, I was in psychology. My professors were fantastic and very well-disciplined, yet sensitive to students' needs. The environment was so friendly to students and the learning was fantastic. The impression from the professors was, 'We all here to help. We will not cheat you. You will learn it.' The keyword was professionalism in terms of staff, professors' discipline, empathy, and understanding the student's needs and limitations.
