One of my family members worked with the radio station at the City College of New York. She convinced me to go to CCNY. She mentioned that it was very inclusive and they were very hands-on with their students, especially the Department of Psychology. I had a friend that was already attending there as well. It looked like the best fit, and I do not regret it. Everything was easily accessible. The professors really hit home and made it a better and comfortable environment. Professor Tecora Williams was my idol. She inspired me to continue looking into mental health counseling. She even told me more about the graduate program at CCNY. She was honestly the reason why I might go back to CCNY for a master's program in mental health counseling. I'm still working in human services. I work for a nonprofit and specifically work with college students who are in foster care.
