CCNY was considered one of the best colleges around and it was free. I was so busy with classes. I was on the junior varsity basketball team. CCNY opened my eyes to the idea of public education and that's what I've devoted my life to. I currently work in a college. It was the first job that I got in 1974. I took it. It was not exactly in the field I majored in because there were no other jobs available at the time. The field that I got my PhD in is Middle East history. My minor was Jewish history, and because of that, I was offered this position in the Department of Judaic Studies at Brooklyn College.
