CCNY was in my neighborhood, and it had many programs especially for minority students. I had a lot of friends from all over the Caribbean who came here and needed an opportunity to get forward in the American system to be productive in education. CCNY was a great program for me, and it had some great professors. My favorite memory was dealing with professors who were very comical, but also very strict. They cared about our educational needs. I'm a teacher at the New York City Department of Education, and I have been teaching for 17 years.
