I attended CCNY because I researched the programs. It's one of the best universities in New York. It also had easy access for me. I felt comfortable with all my professors, especially with professor Lamboy, my professor in education classes. Now he is a dean. One of the activities I most remember was an 'end of the semester' cultural celebration. Participants were to prepare a dish from a typical meal from their country. I prepared a sancocho and professor Lamboy liked my sancocho very much. Each time that we meet, he remembers it and recommends my sancocho to the people around us. I will never forget that. He made a big impression on me. I was an adult when I went back to school and never failed any class. When I graduated, I was 64 years old and I graduated with honors. I passed my edTPA on the first try. I feel very good about my performance in my career. I am applying all the educational tools I learned in the CCNY School of Education. I work in high school, and most of my students are in the 11th and 12th grades. I recommend CCNY to future students, including my students who will graduate. I tell them to take advantage of CCNY's excellent programs. My education at CCNY remains the foundation of my professional career in New York City.
