Career Success

When I started at CCNY, I got married shortly thereafter and then started a family. I remember my little 2-year-old daughter standing with me and my cap and gown. I joined the Black Alumni Group, and I thought it was very helpful to be in touch with people who came from similar backgrounds. I did join the French Club, and I minored in education. I subsequently did become a teacher in the Public School Systems of New York. I taught French and Spanish. I was married and with a kid, so I didn't really do a lot of socializing at CCNY except with the Black Alumni. I got an excellent education. It has served me well throughout my life. I've been a corporate executive, I've taught grad school, and I'm a writer, so it's been wonderful.
