I attended the City College of New York because I lived in Harlem, not that far away, and it was inexpensive. I had some really good professors. I took two semesters with one history teacher because he was concerned not necessarily on the date of any event rather what the events led up to. I've carried that with me for all the rest of my years. He was a great history professor. I loved the architecture of the older buildings. It looked like an old school college in terms of buildings. I went back to New York a couple of years ago, and CCNY has all these modern-looking buildings. The degree had opened up so many doors for me to get different jobs for over 30 years.
