Career Success

I am a computer, semiconductor, software, and Internet pioneer. At the age of 20, I graduated summa cum laude from CCNY. My father graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from CCNY. He attended class in the evening while working full-time. When I was in high school, I took a National Science Foundation class at the CCNY School of Engineering. It was a programming class using the old IBM 7094 that was in the basement of Steinman Hall. I took a swimming class. The final exam was to swim a mile. At the start of the semester this seemed like an unattainable goal. Over the course of the semester I worked weekly to increase my endurance, and by the end of semester I had achieved this goal. Two semesters of physical education were required for my degree. For my second PE class I took canoeing. We had two field trips. The second one was to a river. Our professor was in the lead canoe. During our journey down the river, the professor yelled in his loudest voice to 'Head to the shore now!' Shortly after this, his canoe went over a 12-foot waterfall, the existence of which he apparently was unaware of. Other canoes followed him over the waterfall. Fortunately, I made it to shore before the drop. My physics class used the Sears & Zemansky textbook. After the final, my recitation teacher informed me that I received the highest final exam grade in the history of physics finals at CCNY. My education at CCNY prepared me for a successful career. I also had additional academic success at graduate school, which I attended while working full-time. I had a career doing amazing things in the engineering field. I am a patented inventor and an architect of the first Intel chip that ran Microsoft Windows. Later in my career, I became an engineering manager, eventually achieving the position of corporate vice president at a large public corporation. I was very well-prepared by the education I received at CCNY.
