What inspired me to attend the City College of New York was it was the school that I could afford. I got very high grades, so I was able to attend. I didn't join any clubs; I just focused on doing my work and getting my degree. I enjoyed it because I became a teacher and I enjoyed my student teaching classes. I became a mathematics specialist in the city in bilingual education and it completely defined my life. I have a wonderful retirement. I'm on the board now of the alumni association, and I've contributed to scholarships for the kids. I love all the activities of the alumni association, and I participate in all of them.
