The members of the Engineering School Alumni (ESA) are graduates from the College with a degree in one of the facets of the engineering profession including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Chemical and Computer Engineering.
The ESA objectives are:
- The establishment of contacts with industry, and the dissemination of a knowledge of the Grove School of Engineering of The City College.
- The recognition of achievements by the presentation of medals or other awards to graduates and students of the College, who have distinguished themselves in any of the branches of engineering or their allied sciences.
- The presentation and discussion of technical papers by members and by guests.
On May 23, at the Awards Dinner & Annual Meeting at the National Arts Club, the ESA will present the 2010 Career Achievement Award to Kenneth M. Rosen, PhD, CCNY BME '62, MS and PhD, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as recognition of the successful career of a CCNY alumnus.
The ESA meets with engineering student groups to provide "real world" experiences of the alumni. The Civil Engineering students often attend Civil Engineering Alumni Group (CEAG) meetings at which lectures and workshops provide students an opportunity to interface with professionals experienced in the multitude of disciplines available upon graduation.
